The State of Arkansas Dept of Workforce announced important changes to filing for Unemployment in Arkansas resulting from COVID-19 work disruption.  Our understanding of the changes are as follows:

• Displaced workers may file for Unemployment immediately upon being out of work.

• Unemployment benefit application can be applied for online.

• Benefit waiting periods have been significantly reduced.

• Requirements for appearing in person have been waived.

• Requirements for certain documentation have been waived.

• Requirements for reemployment activities have been waived.

The AR Dept of Workforce is encouraging all claims to be initiated online for expedited assessment.
